Team Work

Emili and Claire enjoy working together to get the pine needles cleaned up out of part of our driveway. At the beginning of March, they headed out - unprompted - to surprise their daddy by cleaning up. We watched them from the window for a little bit and then, unbeknownst to Em and Claire, Chris went out and took some pictures. So cute!

Spirit Week!!!

Spirit Week at the girls' school. I didn't get pictures of every day . . . it was kind of a rough week. Below is "Little Kid Day."

Memories??? of Winter . . .

These photos (from our front porch) were taken on February 28th . . . of what we hope to be the last snow of the season.

Rite of Passage

At the kids' school, once you hit 5th grade, you are able to go on the annual ski trip for 5th - 8th graders. This was the girls' first year and they did so well! Yes - you can ski the prairie! Don't get me wrong, it's nothing like skiing the Rockies, but it's nice for a daytrip. This small resort is outside of Weston, Missouri and uses man-made snow. The day we were there, it hit 65 degrees, so the snow was melting rapidly and becoming quite dirty. The picture immediate below is taken from the parking lot and shows two of the slopes. There are two others on the other side with a higher degree of difficulty.

Bekah, Emili, McKenna and Taylor

I attended ski school with my group just so I could lend some support and get some much needed refresher.

I stuck with Emili for most of the ski school time. She had some trouble getting back on her feet after falling. She stayed with it though and I was proud of her for not giving up.

Here's McKenna on a bunny slope.

I think this is Emili's "Karate Kid" impersonation . . .

McKenna at the rope tow. A skill to master in itself!

A view of two of the slopes from inside the lodge.

Together after a long day of skiing. It was so much fun to ski with the girls and their friends!

Claire's State Report

Here is Claire with the poster of her 2nd grade state report. She chose the state of Nevada and also created the state flag and prepared an oral report. HUGE thanks to our favorite Nevadan - Cousin Yvonne - for providing us with all of the cool stuff from her state! Claire received an A+ for her efforts!

Claire's Birthday Party

Well, I've gotten way behind on updating our blog and a sweet friend told me last night that I needed to pay some attention and time to getting things updated! These are pictures from Claire's birthday party. We had to reschedule our original because she was sick. Can't believe our baby girl is 8!

Check out Claire's friend Joeli in the background . . . trying to give Claire some needed support!

We purchased an R2D2 unit for the girls for Valentine's Day. Here is McKenna playing with him. They have had so much fun with this little droid!

Another Webkinz! Claire's good friend Joeli blessed her with a Webkinz parrot. Claire promptly named it "Coconut Lime."
